“I love candid natural shots, but we don’t know what to do in front of the camera. Will you give us direction?” Of course! At your session, I’ll encourage you to relax, play and snuggle with your children. I’ll set up tickle fights, ask kids to run into your arms, give each other giant bear hugs, or say “boogers!” as loud as they can. When kids are truly having fun, we get their genuine smiles and giggles, and parents have a good time too. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know if you’re making goofy faces, have a double chin, or are standing in an awkward way. Add in flattering angles and light too. I’ll make you look good!

LOOK-AT-THE-CAMERA AND CANDID
​
I adore lifestyle imagery and lots of candid moments, but understand clients want classic look-at-the-camera shots too. We’ll do a mix of both styles, along with a number of backgrounds, so you have a variety of images to choose from in your final gallery. Of course if you like candid more than posed, or vice versa, just let me know and I’ll shoot accordingly.
BEAUTY IN THE CHAOS

After 12 years photographing kids/babies, I swear one of three things happens on photo day: the child gets sick, skips nap, scratches their face or wets all over the place. Please don’t stress! Part of photographing little ones is being flexible (and I can edit those scratches out!). If your child starts to fuss or is uncooperative, we stop for a snack, snuggle with mom, or pick up our bags and go for a little walk. Usually after a “reset” they’re ready to jump back in to the shoot. If children fuss for 80% of the shoot, I can still get you a great gallery. It’s about finding beauty in the chaos.

Within 3 weeks of your session, you will receive an online proof gallery with all the good images from your session (minimum 75), edited in color with some black and white and other variations of color.
Download your final selections in high resolution JPEG format. Print and product ordering available from your gallery as well (we can sit down and order through my printer what you would like printed off (this is not included in this price).

Newborn appointments are normally scheduled 1-3 weeks after your due date.

Sessions are relaxed and natural. We focus on capturing your experience as a new family – no props or awkward poses. You’ll snuggle on the bed, hold baby by pretty window light, or rock them in the nursery. Of course baby’s care comes first, so we break for feedings, changes, and snuggles whenever you need. Also included: nursery photos, details of hands and feet, and sibling or grandparent photos if applicable. No additional charge for twins or triplets. Minimum 150 images.
